England have been made the favourites for the finals ahead of the likes of World champions France, defending champions Portugal and a revitalised Italian side. This is following their very impressive qualification that saw them top group A. They finished having taken 21 points from a possible 24, winning seven matches and losing just once. This included conceding just six goals and scoring 37.

They kick started qualification by beating the Czech Republic 5-0, with Raheem Sterling scoring a hat-trick. This was a much deserved result as the hosts created more chances than England. England then returned to winning ways with a dominant 6-0 away victory over Bulgaria. It was a very hostile night, with the senior players coming to the fore as both Sterling and Kane got on the scoresheet.

The final match of qualification saw England finish with an emphatic 7-0 home victory over Montenegro. Kane picked up a hat-trick , in what was a perfect end to a very positive qualification.
